Keith Anderson – Band Director

Keith Anderson began his teaching career in the fall of 2001 as the Assistant Band Director at Bob Jones High School, assisting with the marching band, and directing the BJHS Concert Band and the Indoor Drum Line.  Mr. Anderson became the Director of Bands at James Clemens High School in December of 2011 as plans were being made to open the school in the fall of 2012.  In the five years of the school being opened, the JCHS Bands have scored consistent superior ratings in all adjudicated performances and multiple Best in Class awards at area marching contests in Alabama and Georgia.  The JCHS Wind Ensemble performed at the Alabama Music Educators Association in January 2016, and the JCHS Marching Band performed in the London New Year’s Day Parade in January 2017.

Mr. Anderson holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from the University of North Alabama and earned National Board Certification in November 2011.  He has served as Alabama Bandmasters Association District Vice Chairman and Chairman.  He is the deacon of the youth program at the West Huntsville Church of Christ and lives in Madison with his wife Emily and their three boys Noah, Benjamin, and Isaac.

Brian Sims – Assistant Band Director

Brian Sims is a 2006 graduate of Enterprise High School in Enterprise, Alabama. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Music Education from the University of North Alabama in Florence, Alabama.

Before attending UNA, Brian traveled the country as a touring and studio musician. He is a member of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers with song writing credits on multiple tracks performed on radio, television, and film. While at UNA, Brian was a member of many ensembles including the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Studio Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, Shoals Symphony Orchestra, and the Low Brass Studio.

Brian and his wife Kayla are both music educators and live in the Madison area. He is an avid Boston sports fan and collector of all things related to The Beatles.
