A 21st century school portrays an environment where all participants build and share leadership capacity at all levels of the organization. Teachers are the catalyst and primary facilitators for developing and inspiring all students. Students should be able to lead themselves, lead others, and lead through contribution to their community. Personal development using a CASTLE approach (courage, authenticity, service, truthfulness, love, and effectiveness) forms a foundation for success. Relational development through the understanding and application of dynamic process energy skills assist students with their effectiveness in leading others. Participation in meaningful service experiences in both the social and academic realms provides the student with connective opportunities to the benefits of a free society.
Four schools within a school (9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th) deliver a blend of core academic experiences with broad career applications so as to provide students a rich and diverse learning experience that prepares them for a globally connected world. Core academics include a range of College Preparatory and Advanced Placement courses within a schedule that also allows for extensions of learning and interventions to support mastery of concepts. Career Academies such as Engineering Sciences, Communicative and Presentation Arts, Biomedical and Health Sciences, and Developing Technologies allow students to truly experience relevant career choices in preparation for postsecondary options.
The fulfillment and meaning of service to others enhances the development of the total child. Opportunities abound in both the formal and informal learning environments. Participation in activities such as JROTC, Peer Leaders, Honor Societies, Service Clubs, Athletics, and other elective or supplemental programs are intended to assist students with their responsibilities for community contribution.
